POSITION DESCRIPTION
 
JOB TITLE:  Strategic Sales Leader
 
REPORTS TO:  CEO
 
Position Summary:
 
The Strategic Sales Leader is responsible for targeting and securing project agreements to achieve personal and company revenue growth goals.  This position will develop prospects into customers by continually improving our relationship across multiple levels / functions.
 
Responsibilities:
 
       Sales          
  • Source leads to expand the sales portfolio
  • Understand complex customer requirements on both a business and technical level
  • Develop a thorough understanding of prospect short-term and long-term financial objectives and needs as learned through discussions with prospect’s corporate and decentralized facility, energy, and executive management teams
  • Communicating Company’s capabilities to address prospect’s needs and objectives, and influence their lighting/energy strategies
  • Confirming mutual alignment between prospect needs and expectations and Company’s capabilities in the areas of scope of work, implementation model, timeline, and financial criteria
  • Identifying concerns and potential competitors while differentiating Company’s solutions based on prospect strategy and needs
  • Determining prospect’s key decision makers, financial budget, timing requirements and other pertinent decision criteria
 
Leadership
  • Creating annual sales plan and providing updates on progress versus plan objectives on a regular basis
  • Maintaining company CRM database
  • Establish strategic direction for company pertaining to growth areas in key geographic and vertical markets
  • Establishing effective communications with Company's Management regarding sales initiatives, strategies, needs, and market intelligence that could affect sales efforts on a regular basis
  • Managing a personal development plan focused on continual personal growth and improvement
 
Requirements:
 
  • Individual should be a highly motivated self-starter who is able to work independently, target new business, follow up on sales leads, and close the sale
  • Individual should be comfortable calling on and presenting to persons from senior level executives down to field level operatives
  • Previous track record navigating and closing energy efficiency projects to public and private sector clients
  • A strong technical proficiency as it relates to energy conservation measures
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • 7+ years’ experience
